If your religion needs an exemption to be able to discriminate against LGBT+ folk, your god isnt one of love or mutual respect. No one is forcing you to be a part of the society, but we are asking you to have 1% of kindness you claim your god has. Every time you push for relegious exemptions, is further proof that you worship a god of hate and division. You tossed your god under the bus, right along side of where you tossed your gay kids.
So introduce your adult child’s boyfriend/girlfriend as thier roomate, throw thier humanity away for fear of shame, show them how you truely love them by praying for them to change, show them you love them by saying you love the sinner but not the sin, show them you love them by refusing to go to thier wedding or allowing thier siblings to go, show them you love them by refusing to serve them at that resturant, refusing to sell them a home, refusing to insure them for health insurance, refusing to provide those prescriptions through insurance, and the list goes on and on and on. Meanwhile your god hung out with the sex workers. You dont want to share society, you want to rule it with an iron spear to shove deeper to prove our death.
Feeling a certain way, and if you’re a christian and dont and would never dream of doing the things discussed above, this isnt about you. But if you are offended, then good, you can feel 1% of the way you have made people like me feel.
Replace gay with racial integration, and your “god” was on the wrong side of that battle. Before your god hated abortion, your god hated racial integration. Interesting to see how your god has decided to hate the same people you do isnt it? This isnt about your weak correlation to what god says about homos. Your god has many more things to say about how you have treated LGBT+ folk, than he does about LGBT+ folk.
