What happens when someone who has a high empathy mindset, gets overcome with the hate involved in this world. The hate mostly coming from the same community i was born into? What happens when the group of folks who told me “red and yellow black and white, they are precious in his sight”, change their tune? Now they say “red and yellow black and white, we will deport them out of sight”. I will choose the love of strangers. I will choose the ones who are hurting. They are being hurt by you. I can no longer stay silent as the evangelical community supports everything they taught against.
I will from this point onward, I will only surround myself with people i consider safe. I will no longer put myself in harms way by being around any Religious or Republican person who holds harmful beliefs about people like me, or about people in my community. I will no longer put myself in danger by being around people who think I’m over reacting to the state of the world. I will no longer put myself in the company of those who voted for this state of the world. They are a danger, and would be the same people who would have reported Anne Frank in the attic.
Show me you are not a terrible person with your actions and your voice, otherwise I have already made my mind up about you and the type of person you are. You are not a good person or a safe person for me to be around, and history will remember you for your sins. Your God is ashamed at how you have treated your neighbors. Jesus and me are cool, its you all who need a little more compassion in your lives.
